The site, formerly home to the California State Fair until its closure in 1970, is now occupied by the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. The new fairgrounds location features a one-mile dirt oval that has hosted prestigious racing events, including the USAC Silver Crown and AMA Grand National Championship motorcycle racing. Cal Expo, as the venue is known, has a rich history of showcasing California's finest for over 165 years and continues to serve as a hub for more than 200 events each year, offering a diverse range of activities and attractions.
