Dobrovo Castle

Dobrovo Castle, constructed around 1600 on the remnants of an earlier structure, features a nearly perfect square design complemented by square turrets at each corner. Nestled in the picturesque Littoral region of Slovenia, the castle has retained much of its original architecture over the centuries. One notable aspect of the castle is a turret that has been transformed into a chapel dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, which showcases a permanent collection of gothic frescoes. These frescoes include both originals and replicas sourced from various churches in the North Primorska region, adding a rich cultural and historical dimension to the site.
