The upcoming Wagner-Kosmos festival in May 2025 will feature the premiere of "Götterdämmerung" alongside two cycles of Richard Wagner's monumental tetralogy, "Der Ring des Nibelungen," directed by the acclaimed Peter Konwitschny. This event marks the culmination of a significant project that has shaped the Opera Dortmund over four seasons, contributing to its recent accolades and enhanced reputation. Unlike previous editions, which explored Wagner's works in relation to contemporaries and successors, this year's festival will present Wagner's music in its purest form. Additionally, the festival will honor the 80th birthday of the distinguished director, celebrating his influential contributions to the operatic landscape.
