In the Kozjansko region, nature is still left quite intact and there are many medicinal plants. It is the Monastery’s wish that the visitors in Olimje become aware of their benefit but more importantly, see how simple it is to grow them in their home gardens. They have set up a botanical garden with nearly two hundred species of medical herbs. Each exhibited plant has a sign with its Slovenian and Latin names, and which illness it helps to treat.
