Stichting Grote Sint Laurenskerk Alkmaar

The historic Grote Sint Laurenskerk (1470-1520) is located in the center of the cheese town of Alkmaar. This monumental church building in the style of Brabant Gothic has been used as a multifunctional center since 1996. The medieval entourage combined with the use of modern materials in the new facilities makes the building particularly suitable for its current destination. As one of the larger locations above the North Sea Canal, the Grote Sint Laurenskerk is very suitable for exhibitions, fairs, conferences, symposia, (civil) weddings, receptions, dinners, lectures, events, concerts and exams.

The building is well equipped with, among other things, 220 V and 380 V connections, heating, freely divisible panel walls, curtain partitions, movable stage parts and chair arrangements, lighting and sound installation, facilities for TV recordings and connections for a mobile kitchen. The available 'flat floor' of approximately 2,500 m2 and excellent catering facilities make the building suitable for many types of events.

The interior and exterior restoration of the Grote Sint Laurenskerk was completed in 1996. While retaining the historical character, modern facilities have been installed to make the church building suitable for multifunctional use.

Alkmaar is only 30 minutes by car from Schiphol. There are four parking garages within walking distance of the church building, which are quickly accessible from the ring road, while the train station is a 10-minute walk away.
