The Vasarely Museum, located in the southeastern wing of the Baroque-style Zichy Castle in Óbuda, features a large collection of works by the renowned 20th-century op art painter and sculptor Victor Vasarely. Established in 1987 in the presence of the artist, the museum's primary focus is on preserving and showcasing Vasarely's oeuvre, along with conducting scholarly research on his contributions to the art world. The core of the collection consists of op-art pieces that Vasarely donated to the museum. Additionally, the institution has always provided space for temporary exhibitions that explore the context of abstract-geometric, concrete, and kinetic art movements represented by Vasarely.
